A national supermarket chain in the European Union strove to become an industry leader by reducing waste and increasing sales through inventory optimization. They launched a 12-week Inventory Optimization Program with Apeel, along with 4 stores with similar waste and sales profiles.
Apeel-Protected Avocados were sold in 2 of the stores, creating test and control cohorts. In one of our many tests, we increased inventory of their Apeel-Protected Avocado 4-pack by 146%. Alongside some clever point-of-sale marketing and pricing promotions, we tracked the retailers' sales data to find out just how effective our inventory optimization experiment was.
That retailer saw a +121% increase in sales for the Apeel-Protected Avocado 4-pack while keeping waste low.
